Tom and Vanessa Hanley required new carpeting for their dining and reading rooms, as well as a staircase. They had looked at other stripes, but were yet to find the cool, subtle stripe which was in their minds. They wanted the stairs to have a runner, but were aghast at the price of bespoke runners from other suppliers. They also desired a sumptuous underfoot feel, for those lazy barefoot Sunday mornings. Finally as both Tom and Vanessa are environmentally aware, they sought to minimise the environmental impact of their flooring.
We suggested our Wool Loops collection. Made from 100% British wool, which is totally recyclable, Tom was delighted to find that they are woven in Yorkshire, so minimised emissions associated with transport. This elegant stripe echoed the soft greys of their scheme, and by cutting and binding the runner in house, we were able to bring the installation (just!) under budget. The desired under foot feel was achieved by using a heavy felt underlay, made from 100% recycled carpet fibre. This too is British made; naturally!INSTALLATION BRIEF
" We had such a long list of needs and wants, we really felt that we would have to compromise somewhere. Having tried local retailers, we found Woodwards via their website, and the initial phone conversation was both professional and helpful. Where other shops had scratched their heads, Woodwards listened, and then found solutions. In fact our only complaint is that it was so hard to persuade the fitters to slow down long enough to drink a cup of tea!"
